Dear Period,
Once I went to a chiropractor in the hopes that I would get you back. If only the cure was so simple. To be totally honest with you, about 86% of me wanted to go, get adjusted, and magically get my period back. And about 0% of me believed that that would actually happen. It was a long shot, but I guess in hindsight, worth a try, right?! I mean, what if it would have worked, but I hadn't tried it?! I found a great chiropractor in the process, and now I know for sure that one good back crack wasn't what was standing between me and happiness, so there's that.
XOXO
See ya after

Hey Ladies,
I know for a fact that I am not the only who hangs all her hopes on that story she just read about the woman going gluten free and getting her cycle back, or the one who just needed chiropractic or acupuncture. The one who adjusted her running schedule and was able to reclaim her fertility. I am so happy for those women, but so far, I am not one of them, and so many of us are not one of them.
What I want to say to each one of you, and to myself as well, over and over again, is that your body is your own and therefore your cure is your own. POF doesn't have a cure-all remedy, and to hang your hopes on someone else's success story is to set yourself up for disappointment. I have done it time and time again, so believe me when I say that it IS NOT WORTH IT!
Part of why I started this blog was to help myself find my own path and seek my own unique remedy, and to encourage other women with POF to do the same. What I am trying to teach myself, by learning to listen to my body and nourish it well and cherish it (with or without a cycle), is that inventing the light bulb took a lot of tries, and I need to just keep trying. The journey from statistic to success story is a pretty rocky road, but if we hike it together, we can all help each other to the top.
